V animovanom filme od štúdií Disney / Pixar Hľadá sa Dory sa na strieborné plátno vracia obľúbená modrá rybka Dory, ktorá si spokojne žije na korálovom útese s Nemom a Marlinom. Potom si ale Dory z ničoho nič spomenie, že kedysi a kdesi stratila svojich rodičov. Spoločne s Marlinom a Nemom sa vydá na strhujúce dobrodružstvo naprieč oceánom, až do prestížneho Morského akvária v Kalifornii, kde sa liečia choré morské živočíchy. Pri hľadaní mamičky a otecka stretáva Dory troch svojráznych obyvateľov Morského akvária: Prvým je Hank, červený chobotničiak, ktorý úspešne uniká zriadencom; druhým je Bailey, samec beluhy, ktorý sám seba presvedčil, že mu nefunguje echolokácia, a tretím je krátkozraká veľryba s menom Hope.
