Moritaka Mashiro, un estudiante de instituto, se deja su cuaderno en clase. Su compañero Akito Takagi lo encuentra y, tras ver sus dibujos, le propone ser el artista para las historias que escribe, aunque la oferta es rechazada en un primer momento.
