Rod Kimble gibt vor ein echter Stuntman zu sein. In Wirklichkeit sieht sein aufregendes Leben aber anders aus: mit seinem kleinen Moped fährt er auf dürftig zusammengebastelte Rampen zu, um dann über Schwimmbecken oder Wohnwagen zu springen. Aber entweder landet er dabei im Wasser oder prallt gegen den Wohnwagen - funktioniert hat noch keiner der Stunts. Trotzdem hält er an seinem Vorhaben fest, da er glaubt, dass sein Vater ebenfalls ein erfolgreicher Stuntman - ein Kollege von Evil Knievel persönlich - war. Sein Stiefvater Frank hingegen hält nichts von ihm. Rod hasst Frank deshalb, muss aber eines Abends feststellen, dass dieser schwer krank ist und eine Herztransplantation für 50.000$ benötigt. Daraufhin beschließt Rod zusammen mit seiner Crew, mit seinen Stunts auf Geburtstagen und Festen aufzutreten, um so das nötige Kleingeld für die OP zusammenzubekommen, damit Frank wieder fit wird und Rod ihn danach endlich einmal fertigmachen kann...
