The film traces the rebels' struggle and the increasingly extreme measures taken by the French government to quell the revolt.

In Korean, the ’Nae’ is a word for ‘river’ and ‘ap’ means ‘front’. Also the word ’Nae’ has a homonym which means ‘my’.
