País Vasco, España, 1843. Un agente de policía llega a un pequeño pueblo de Álava para investigar a un misterioso herrero que vive solo en lo más profundo del bosque.
Año 1876. Durante los estertores de la última guerra carlista, una niña es rescatada de un orfanato por una misteriosa mujer que habita en lo profundo del bosque. Malherida, y sintiendo estar al borde de la muerte, la pequeña creerá ver en ella a un ángel que ha venido a buscarla para llevársela al Cielo. No tardará en descubrir, al amanecer del nuevo día, que este extraño ser le ha donado la vida eterna a cambio de su compañía. Bajo su nueva condición, tendrá que ‘vivir’ el doloroso paso del tiempo encerrada en su niñez, y contar infinidad de lunas hasta conocer a Cándido, un hombre humilde que le acogerá en su casa como si de su propia hija se tratase, y con el que comenzará su viaje en contra de su nueva naturaleza y el sueño de recuperar su vida arrebatada.
Juán Auzmendi, sacristan of a small Spanish village, decides to emigrate to America in search of new horizons. To pay for the trip, he steals the saving of his parish priest and begins the journey to the city of Pasajes, where he hopes to get on a ship. But Spain is again on the verge of a Civil War and the trip to the coast gets complicated.

Two Carlist scientists will try to revive Zumalakarregi, but in their attempt to do so, the Idiazabal Cheese winner of the contest is contaminated. As a result, all the inhabitants of Ataun will become zombies after eating the cheese.
'Napardeath' closes de 'Ataun of the Dead' trilogy. After having revived in the first film and defeated the Vampire Nationalist Party in the second, Zumalakarregi will head to Pamplona to appoint himself king of the Basques. It won't be an easy road, since the Abertzale left will revive the mummy of Sancho the Strong, in order to restore the Kingdom of Navarre and recover the throne. Who will win this game of thrones?
A zombie plague will threaten the political hegemony and permanence of the Vampire Nationalist Party who therefore decide that the best way to solve the problem is to waken the former Basque president, Lehendakari Agirre.
