敏腕記者エディ・ブロックは、人体実験で死者をだしているという＜ライフ財団＞の真相を追う中、シンビオートと呼ばれる地球外生命体を発見し接触してしまう。この意思を持った生命体との接触により、エディの体は寄生され一体化し、ヴェノムとなる。ヴェノムはそのグロテスクな体で容赦なく人を襲って喰らう。エディは自分自身をコントロールできなくなる危機感を覚える一方、少しずつその力に魅了されていく。
