Korea in den 1930er Jahren. Eines Tages kommt ein neues Dienstmädchen, die junge und naive Sookee, ins Haus von Lady Hideko. Doch das Mädchen hat ein Geheimnis: Sookee ist eine Taschendiebin und Betrügerin, engagiert, um Hideko dem gerissenen Grafen Fujiwara in die Hände zu spielen, der sie nach der Hochzeit um ihr Vermögen bringen will.
