로렐은 월스트리트의 촉망받는 투자분석가. 승진의 기회가 남자 동료인 프랭크에 의해 방해 받자 독립하여 사업을 시작한다. 그러나 여자라는 이유로 고객들의 신뢰를 받기 힘들자 가상의 남성동업자 "로버트 커티"를 만들어낸다. 다행히 로버트 커티의 명성은 높아가지만 그의 존재에 대한 의혹이 생기면서 가상 인물의 존재를 확인시키는 한바탕 소동이 일어난다는 이야기.이번에는 우피 골드버그의 남장 이야기를 보자. 로렐 에이리스는 투자회사 맨체스트의 분석가로 유망한 직장 여성이다. 하지만 후배의 계략으로 승진을 놓치고 회사를 떠난다. 회사 창업 계획을 세우지만 두 가지 약점이 있었다. 흑인이자 여성이라는 사실. 답답한 상황에 증권가의 거물 도널드 팔론과의 기적적인 면접을 얻어내지만 아무도 팔론에 맞설 사람으로 봐주지 않는다. 로렐은 양주병 이름에서 힌트를 얻어 "미스터 커티"라는 새로운 인물을 만들기로 결심한다.

비극적인 사고로 사망한 토마스와, 6년 간 커플이자 파트너였던 쉐인의 여정을 따라가는 다큐멘터리. 영화는 쉐인의 유튜브 비디오 다이어리로 시작해, 가족들과 주변 사람들의 인터뷰를 따라가며, 그들의 유년기와 학창시절, 가족 관계등을 조명한다. 최초 프로듀서에게 다뮤를 제안받고, 초기에 제작비 난항을 겪었지만, 펀드라이징에서 제작비를 펀딩을 시작하고 역사상 가장 많은 돈을 펀딩받은 다큐멘터리로 기록을 남겼다.

본래 캐시 제이는 페미니스트 였으며 원래는 남성인권단체를 비판할 목적으로 그들과 인터뷰했으나, 하지만 캐시 제이의 생각과 달리 남성인권단체가 주장하는 것들이 정말 옳다고 생각하여서 아예 남성인권 다큐멘터리를 제작하게 되었으며 그 과정에서 캐시 제이는 페미니스트를 관두기를 선언했다. 이름의 유래는 역시 1번의 매트릭스의 빨간약에서 따온 개념으로, 캐시 제이가 그간 가지고있던 남성은 항상 권력자의 위치에 있으며 혐오, 차별의 대상이 될 수 없다고 믿어왔던 기존의 페미니스트로써의 신념을 버리고 남성인권에도 관심을 가지게 되었다는 의미이다. 당연하지만 미국의 여성인권단체의 각종 항의로 인해서 몇번 극장에서 상영취소가 되기도 하였다.
