Ottimo film, tipicamente britannico, con due eccellenti occasioni interpretative per Attenborough e la Stanley. Lei è una falsa medium che progetta un contorto piano. Convince il marito a rapire una bambina, in modo da poter "vedere" il luogo del nascondiglio, farla ritrovare e acquistare una fama eccezionale (e molto redditizia) come chiaroveggente.
