Afhuggede hoveder og blodige tarme hører til Roger Cobbs hverdag. Han er nemlig en af USA's bedste gyserforfattere. Men nu er han ramt af akut skrivekrampe, som følge af; at hans søn er sporløst forsvundet, hans kone vil skilles og hans faster har begået selvmord. Han beslutter sig for at flytte ind i huset, som han har arvet af fasteren. Nu håber han på endelig at kunne få lidt fred og ro. Men da han åbner garderoben i værelset, hvor fasteren hængte sig, opdager han, at noget er flyttet ind i huset.

Nathan Algren er krigsveteran fra den amerikanske borgerkrig. Han tager til Japan for at lære kejser Meijis tropper at bruge skydevåben i kampen mod landets sidste samurai. Men Algren bliver taget til fange af samuraien og ændrer livssyn, da han møder samuraiernes ældgamle traditioner og deres æreskodeks.

Amin er 36 år, veluddannet og succesfuld i sit karrierejob. Alt kører. Men da hans kæreste Kasper frier til ham, gribes han af angst for at give sig hen. Ingen kender nemlig hele sandheden om Amins fortid. Hvis Amin skal turde leve sit liv fuldt ud, må han tage et endeligt opgør med dén hemmelighed, han som barn fik ordre om aldrig at afsløre. En hemmelighed han har båret på i mere end 20 år. Opgøret med fortiden sender Amin tilbage til en lykkelig barndom i 80´ernes Kabul i Afghanistan, hvor a-ha brager igennem hans walkman, og hvor Jean Claude Van Damme hænger på drengeværelset i familiens hus. Men han sendes også tilbage til den nådesløse borgerkrig, der forvandler den trygge og kærlige hverdag til en krigszone og splitter hans familie til atomer. En krig, der sender 11-årige Amin på en farefuld flugt, som først slutter fem år senere, da han ankommer helt alene til Danmark.

During the winter of 1943, the German Army halted the American advance in the mountains of Italy; back-and-forth combat decimates Joe Peterson's platoon. On leave in Naples, Joe meets WAC lieutenant Eleanor MacKay; initially cool, she begins to melt during a bombing raid. Their romance develops despite Joe's periodic returns to the front. But whether he'll come back in the end becomes more than doubtful.

Their life begins to fall apart because of father's dissatisfaction after his company is sold on the stock exchange, Sasa's negligent attitude towards work and family, Marija's breast cancer diagnose. When problems begin to line up Muhamed and Sasa realize that actually only family is important, that it is man's last oasis

War and Peace of Mind explores what war does to the human mind and how both, the individuals and the nation as a whole, survive it psychologically. Finland and WWII, locally known as continuation war, is the backdrop of this documentary.

Deserter follows Ryan Johnson and his wife Jen during their flight from the Central Valley of California to Toronto, Canada. Johnson deserted the American army after hearing that he was going to be deployed to Iraq, despite assurances that this would not happen. Like many of his contemporaries, Johnson only joined the army because he could not find a job, and he sees the war in Iraq as both illegal and immoral. Desertion means imprisonment, so he decides to flee, realising that there will be no way back. Johnson seeks advice from various helpful organisations that guide him and Jen to Canada. The employees include both Vietnam veterans and young soldiers who have already served in Iraq.

After numerous military operations, Major Müller can't find a way back into civilian life. Following his urge to communicate, the Major is looking for listeners and encouragement. He doesn't find either. Instead, the repeated monological memory of his own heroic deeds determines his present – with all the consequences. This 30-minute short film is based on the statements made by the mercenary Siegfried Müller in the documentary “The Laughing Man” (Walter Heynowski and Gerhard Scheumann, DEFA studio for newsreels and documentaries, 1966), as well as records from the German colonial period in Africa. An intensive contribution to the necessary public debate about the consequences of military operations.

Set in the pastoral mountains of northern Iran, eight-year-old Sahand has been rendered mute by the loss of his mother during the war. He is taken care of by his older sister as he struggles to process his trauma.
