一位母親和患有自閉症的兒子前往巴塔哥尼亞，她希望一名生態管理員和一群野生逆戟鯨能夠幫助兒子找到情感上的紐帶。

Five 2nd-grade kids who don't follow strict rules by their school principal Brinway are dubbed "Stinkers" by him. On the class visit to an aquarium the Stinkers decide that a sea lion called Slappy doesn't feel too good there, "free" him, and plant him into Brinway's hot-tub.

Mickey is ringmaster of a circus for orphans. Donald has a trained sea lion act, and does a bit of juggling himself. Mostly, though, he fights with a baby sea lion who keeps stealing both the fish and the show. Donald then finds himself and Mickey in an unrehearsed high wire act, which kicks into high gear when one of the orphans electrifies the wire. They end by doing a high dive into the seals' tank.

The film will be a work of fantastic realism, exploring the daily adventures, social dynamics, and remarkable role of sea lions in one of the most biodiverse and protected ecosystems on the planet.

The film shows open air shots of life in the colony of the sea lion. The following behaviours are shown: establishing territories and rivalry fights, courting and mating, feeding the young, play among young animals.
