Paskutinės Žemės valandos prieš smogiant kometai. Vienintėlė saugi vieta - Grenlandija. Mokslininkai jau seniai seka artimajame kosmose praskriejančius asteroidus bei kometas, siekdami numatyti, kuris iš jų gali kelti grėsmę mūsų planetai. Nors dauguma didesniųjų objektų yra pastebėti, o jų trajektorijos apskaičiuotos, tikimybė, kad į Žemę trenksis iš kosmoso gelmių atskriejęs nekviestas svečias, išlieka. Tokiu atveju padariniai gali būti katastrofiniai. Naujausi asteroidų atvejai yra išsamiai ištirti ir aprašyti: 2013 m. netoli Rusijos Čeliabinsko miesto nukritusio maždaug 20-ies metrų skersmens asteroido sprogimo galia prilygo 440 tūkst. tonų trotilo; o žymiojo 1908-ųjų Tunguskos meteorito (kurio skersmuo galėjo siekti nuo 60 iki 190 metrų) sprogimas, pagal skaičiavimus, prilygo 15-ai milijonų tonų trotilo – t.y., buvo tūkstantį kartų galingesnis nei Hirosimos atominės bombos. Tačiau kas nutiktų, jei Žemė atsidurtų ne asteroido, o kometos kelyje?

The means to this end is to educate and civilize the 16 children in the Danish language and culture, so they can spearhead Greenland's transformation from being a poor hunter society to being an equal part of Denmark. Due to her blind faith in the experiment, Gert underestimates the obvious personal costs to the children. And when the children as well as the Danish state fail her...
