After making a harrowing escape from war-torn South Sudan, a young refugee couple struggle to adjust to their new life in a small English town that has an unspeakable evil lurking beneath the surface.
Travelling back home to South Sudan via the Juba-Nimule Highway, Makuer and his peers have their bus attacked by two gunmen. Makuer escapes with two other students but decides to turn back and save the rest left behind. The story is based on true events.
Haunted by his violent past, the ambitious lawyer Anuol returns to his homeland, South Sudan, committed to serve his country and hold accountable those who are responsible. But his quest, led by the rules of law, hits a wall when he is confronted with his countrymen’s reluctance to reconcile with history.

In this film, the youngest and most innocent generation of Sudanese explains how it deals with the war that is tearing the country apart. Will the orphaned children avenge their murdered parents, or will they forgive the killers and start working on a new life? At any rate, these children's dreams for the future are anything but violent. One of them wants to learn English to be able to liberate his country, another wants to study to "be something," a third wants to become president to bring total peace, and yet another simply wants to be like her grandmother. Despite all the atrocities they have witnessed, the children mainly want to rebuild things, to put an end to the destruction.
'‘Our Big Fear’' is a short film from South Sudan aimed at highlighting the effects of cattle rustling in the country. This film was a response to an urgent need for disarmament. Civilians across South Sudan have been illegally armed due to the long wars that culminated into the independence of South Sudan. In this 35-minute movie, we show how guns are dangerous in the hands of the community. We further show the civilians being peacefully disarmed."
