「Love All Play」為羽球術語，代表「零比零，比賽開始」，是比賽開始時裁判所發出的指示，以此標題帶出一段關於高中羽球的故事。
主角水嶋亮雖然在國中的羽球隊沒有打出亮眼的成績，但他的潛力引起羽球名門學校「橫濱湊高中」羽球教練海老原仁的興趣，並邀請亮到橫濱湊高中就讀。原本猶豫不決的亮，在姊姊水嶋里佳的鼓勵下，最終決定就讀橫濱湊高中並加入羽球隊，故事就此展開。
位於神奈川線的北小町高校，當羽球社教練立花健太郎為了社員不足而煩惱時，正好被他發現一位運動神經相當優秀的學生羽咲綾乃。雖然在好說歹說下總算將綾乃拉進羽球社，但她其實對羽球沒有太大的好感，不過隨著劇情發展，和他校選手交流過後，綾乃的心境也了改變並逐漸成長。
故事中的主角白鳥尊是過去曾被稱為神童的天才選手，由於過去比賽中經歷而造成的陰影，而無法在比賽中有理想表現，甚至在與強隊對抗的比賽中慘敗。這樣的他進入了 Sunlight 飲料公司任職後，也成為了公司的羽球隊隊員，然而他公司的羽球隊也是沒什麼實際成績的弱小隊伍。這樣的他，與同公司的前輩宮澄建組成了搭檔……
一個都市男孩跟隨爸爸來到鄉下，父親在這裡的新教練工作是要訓練成績萎靡不振的中學羽球隊，拯救這群烏合之眾免於解散的命運。
