Armádu ovládal člen kráľovskej rodiny, ktorý mal nasadenú špeciálnu zlatú korunu. Keď však armáda nemilosrdne zabíjala ľudí, Balor začal svoje rozhodnutie ľutovať. Ľuďom prenechal mestá a elfovia sa stiahli do lesov. Korunu rozdelil na tri kusy a jeden dal ľuďom, aby žiadny elf nemohol armádu zneužiť. S tým však nesúhlasil jeho syn, princ Nuada. Odišiel do exilu a prisahal, že sa vráti, až vtedy keď ho jeho tvorovia budú potrebovať...
