Neben den Familien folgen auch Astronomen, Lehrer und das Militär dem Ruf dieses Großevents. Doch statt des eigentlich geplanten wissenschaftlichen Wettbewerbs kommt es zu unerwarteten weltverändernden Ereignissen, die Chaos und Verwirrung stiften – wie das halt so ist, wenn plötzlich ein Alien auftaucht.
