사람들의 눈을 피해 조용히 킬로란이란 섬에서 결혼식을 하기 위해 길을 떠난 조안은 변덕스런 섬의 날씨 때문에 킬로란을 코앞에 두고 인근 섬에서 발이 묶인다. 한편 킬로란의 주인이며, 군인인 토퀼 맥닐(Torquil MacNeil: 로저 리브세이 분) 또한 8일간 받은 휴가를 보내기 위해 킬로란으로 향하다가 조안과 같이 발이 묶이게 된다. 킬로란으로 가는 배를 기다리면서 같이 시간을 보내게 된다.
하지만 진정한 사랑보다는 물질적 풍요를 최고로 추구하던 조안이 차츰 토퀼을 사랑하게 되는 자신을 깨닫고, 그 사랑을 피하고자 무리를 해서라도 킬로란에 가려고 한다. 그런 조안의 마음을 모르는 상태에서 토퀼은 배를 운행할 만큼 좋은 날씨가 될 때까지 기다리도록 설득하려고 애쓰지만 조안은 끝까지 돈으로 뱃사람을 사 킬로란으로 향하려 한다.
뒤늦게 카트리나의 얘기로 조안의 마음을 알게 된 토퀼 또한 그 배에 동승하게 되지만 엄청난 소용돌이 속에서 겨우 살아나 다시 묵었던 섬으로 되돌아오게 된다. 그러나 서로의 사랑을 확실하게 알게 된 두 사람은 결국 진정한 사랑을 택하는데...
Following World War II in peacetime Scotland, brigade headquarters replaces commanding officer Major Jock Sinclair, a boisterous battalion leader, with the strict, temperamental Lieutenant Colonel Basil Barrow. Resentful toward his replacement, Sinclair undermines Barrow's authority and damages his successor's reputation among the soldiers. Major Jim "Lance" Lansing, an American ex-pilot of the U.S. Air Corps, returns to Scotland after the war and finds much trouble in the glen where he settles because of the high-handed activities of the local laird, Sandy Mengues, a wealthy South American who, with his daughter Marissa, has returned to the land of his forefathers. Led by Lansing, the people eventually prevail upon Mengues to restore peace to the glen, but not before a brief and unconvincing fight between Lansing and Dukes, the Mengues foreman. This film shows the kit and equipment that the 42nd of Foot, The Black Watch wore and used at Waterloo. The Battalion was in 9 Bde of Picton's 5th Division and fought at Quatre Bras and Waterloo. The 8 British Battalions in Picton's Division were all Peninsula Battalions and most probably the most relaible in Wellington's Army. Hence their use at Quatre Bras and their position at Waterloo. The Division lost 43% of its men as casualties at Waterloo including Picton himself, Wellington's greatest fighting general.

In December 2005, Gordon Duncan, from Perthshire, was quite simply unique as a piper of his generation. He was a multi-instrumentalist and prolific composer. Just for Gordon is a documentary about his life and the tunes he wrote that have quickly become a mainstay of the Scottish traditional music repertoire. His tunes had true significance, not just in their unique and original arrangement, but also in their very inspiration - often from entertaining occurrences in Gordon's life. His tunes can be heard at T in the Park, Celtic Connections, Celtic Colours in Canada, the Lorient festival in Brittany and the Fleadh Cheòil in Ireland. Gordon Duncan helped to put piping on the map for a whole new generation and for his pupils. The programme features the musicians that knew and played with him and those who continue to play and be inspired by his music, especially his own pupils.
