In 1915, Elizabeth has fallen in love with Horace Robedaux, a young man her father condemns as a "wild boy." No matter how strict and protective, her parents cannot deter their daughter's growing independence.

Irene has had lots of bad luck with her husbands. Her first husband, B-actor Walter Fink was run over by a construction truck. Her second husband, mob boss Butcher Man, was killed at her wedding by a flying bird flying into his mouth. Her third husband, the priest presiding at her 2nd wedding Steward Pig was killed after their wedding when he saw the ghosts of the first two husbands. Together, the three ghosts conspire to set her up with a radio personality, Alan. - Yellow Hammer.

The main character of the film is Paunvere tailor Jorh Adniel Kiir. Two young seamstresses, Juuli and Maali, arrive in Paunvere. At first, Kiir regards them as competitors, but then he establishes friendly relations with them. Kiir marries Juuli, but he is not indifferent to Maali either. The film also follows Kiir's efforts to get his own farm.

A single middle aged lady working as receptionist and cleaner in a public lavatory for men spends her time between chores reading "Happy Woman" and daydreaming about a loving partner. When an unknown man starts leaving flowers at her desk, she gets excited but also increasingly stressed out trying to figure out who is her secret admirer or, perhaps, the prankster.
