Douglas Quaid er en fabriksarbejder, som henvender sig til det revolutionerende firma "Rekall", der kan forvandle hans spionfantasier til realistiske erindringer, men proceduren går gruelig galt, så skellet mellem fantasi og virkelighed udviskes. Det ender med, at Quaid må tage flugten, mens hans verden ramler ned om ørerne på ham.

Filmen starter med at lægen styrter med sin hest – et uheld, som viser sig at være forårsaget af en kraftig snøre spundet ud mellem to træer. Det bliver starten på en række udåder. Efterhånden kaster alle mistænksomme blikke på hinanden, og ordensmagten hidkaldes udenbys fra.
The trustees of Midwestern University have forced three teachers out of their jobs for being suspected communists. Trustee Ed Keller has also threatened mild mannered English Professor Tommy Turner, because he plans to read a controversial piece of prose in class. Tommy is upset that his wife Ellen also suggested he not read the passage. Meanwhile, Ellen's old boyfriend, the football player Joe Ferguson, comes to visit for the homecoming weekend. He takes Ellen out dancing after the football rally, causing Tommy to worry that he will lose her to Joe.

The documentary Two Doors traces the Yongsan Tragedy of 2009, which took the lives of five evictees and one police SWAT unit member. Left with no choice but to climb up a steel watchtower in an appeal to the right to live, the evictees were able to come down to the ground a mere 25 hours after they had started to build the watchtower, as cold corpses. And the surviving evictees became lawbreakers. The announcement of the Public Prosecutors’ Office that the cause of the tragedy lay in the illegal and violent demonstration by the evictees, who had climbed up the watchtower with fire bombs, clashed with voices of criticism that an excessive crackdown by government power had turned a crackdown operation into a tragedy.
