Alina se vrací z Německa, kam odešla za prací, s nadějí, že si zpátky odvede Voičitu, jedinou bytost, kterou kdy milovala a která kdy milovala ji. Jenomže v době, kdy tu Alina nebyla, našla Voičita Boha, a to je v lásce soupeř, nad nímž se těžko vyhrává. Cristian Mungiu, který si z Cannes odvezl Zlatou palmu v roce 2007, opět zvolil jako ústřední postavy dvě mladé ženy. Kdysi spolu vyrůstaly v sirotčinci a po delším odloučení se shledávají v klášterní osadě v kopcích. Zatímco pro jednu z nich se staly chatrče kolem kostelíka domovem, druhá touží utéci z místa, kde vládne přísný řád diktovaný knězem, jehož komunita slepě poslouchá. Není těžké objevit paralely s nedávnou historií autorovy vlasti, třebaže interpretace složitého a nejednoznačně vyznívajícího příběhu je ponechána na divákovi. Poslední záběry ovšem výmluvně vyjadřují autorův pohled na současné Rumunsko.

Ezri je snad až příliš krásný a příliš jemný pro tento svět přísných pravidel, která Aaron, zcela propadnuvší mladíkovu kouzlu, jednoho dne nenávratně poruší a bezhlavě se zamiluje...
Haim-Aaron je bystrý ultraortodoxní náboženský učenec žijící v Jeruzalémě. Jeho nadání a oddanost mu všichni závidí. Jednoho večera, po půstu, který si sám nařídil, Haim-Aaron zkolabuje a ztratí vědomí. Záchranáři ohlásí jeho smrt, ale jeho otec se ujme resuscitace a Haim-Aaron se nad všechna očekávání probere k životu. Po nehodě se Haim-Aaron snaží, ale zůstává apatický ke studiu. Cítí se ohromen náhlým probuzením svého těla a tuší, že ho tím Bůh zkouší. Přemýšlí, jestli by neměl sejít z předepsané cesty a najít způsob, jak znovu probudit svou víru... Název znamená v hebrejštině "napravit", nicméně v anglicky mluvícím světě se film jmenuje Tikkun.

In Words with Gods, each director recounts a narrative centered around human fragility, as well as environmental and cultural crises involving specific religions with which each has a personal relationship; including early Aboriginal Spirituality, Umbanda, Buddhism, the Abrahamic faiths, Hinduism, and Atheism. An animated sequence by Mexican animator Maribel Martinez is woven through each of the film segments, with each segment narratively connected as a feature-length film.

The film shows how people living in the remote Russian village are preparing for the Annunciation, marking the turning point of winter and the beginning of field work. Everyday details of the parish community life help to feel Russian Orthodox customs that have been formed for centuries.
"The Moscow Pilgrims" is a film that takes you on a tour of Russia’s ancient capital. The film’s main characters – father and son – are doing the most intersting sights of old Moscow, including the Simonov Monastery, the New Spassky Cloister and the Krutitsky Church located on a picturesque bank of the Moskva River. The celibate priest Ilia, the dean of the church of the Holy Mother of God father Vladimir and other priests will help the pilgrims and visitors to see the world of Moscow’s ancient holy sites: the burial-vault of the noble Romanov family, the Cathedral of the Transfiguration of God recently cleared from security services, and the graves of the Kulikovo battle heroes, the monks Oslyabi and Peresvet.
