John n’a pas coupé les ponts avec Ted, ce qui sonne le glas de sa relation avec Lori. Pendant ce temps, l’ourson en peluche épouse sa petite amie, Tami-Lynn. Mais rapidement, l’union bat de l’aile. Afin de sauver leur mariage, ils décident d’avoir un bébé. Mais comment y arriver lorsqu’un des partenaires ne possède pas d’organe génital? Ted fait appel à John qui lui conseille l’insémination artificielle. Mais Tami-Lynn est infertile en raison de ses abus de drogue passés. Le couple pense alors à l’adoption. Mais Ted doit prouver devant un tribunal qu’il est une personne, un être humain. Le trio consulte une jeune avocate qui accepte de défendre la cause. Commence à ce moment-là une saga judiciaire à l’issue incertaine.

Inquiet pour son fils, le détective John McClane se rend à Moscou pour tenter de le tirer d'une impasse. Il découvre alors que sa progéniture travaille en fait pour la CIA et a reçu pour mission de protéger un prisonnier politique qui aurait en sa possession des documents pouvant incriminer un important homme d'état. Les hommes de main de ce dernier cherchent pour leur part à capturer le détenu en liberté avant que ces éléments ne soient rendus publics. De leur côté, le père et le fils, faisant désormais équipe, sortent l'artillerie lourde pour mener la vie dure aux criminels.

C'est le coup de foudre, mais David s'aperçoit rapidement que de mystérieux hommes conspirent à le séparer de l'objet de son affection.

The story begins as two missionaries are arrested for unlawful proselytizing. The law regarding such behavior has been set up by the Christian Town Council to oversee the religious and more importantly "non-Christian" influences within the town. The movie follows Thomas Bryant's inner struggle as he is ordered to defend the missionaries. As Thomas begins to empathize with the plight of the missionaries, he is confronted by his wife and forced into a confrontation with his friend-turned adversary, James Radner. Thomas becomes the center of animosity in the small town. His internal struggle becomes the catalyst of life and death-events portrayed in the story, bringing into question the topics of religion and acceptance. The intriguing court battle, together with a significant and surprising twist of fate for Thomas, lead to a strong critical ending that will leave the audience pondering what makes life memorable and truly important.
