Dokumentarprogram, der i 14 udsendelser beretter om livet i Danmark ved årtusindskiftet, fortalt med udgangspunkt i Københavns Politis Station 1 på Halmtorvet på Vesterbro. I en anden celle ligger en af gadens piger. Betjentene kender hende godt, men hun opfører sig anderledes, end hun plejer, og på vej derhen i patruljevognen gik hun nærmest amok. Og så er der planlagt en større aktion ved Nørreport station. Her har en bande rumænere specialiseret sig i lommetyverier og i at aflure folks PIN-kode.
