片中有幾個特殊橋段，包括被害人看見自己身體的特殊拍法、三百六十度迴旋打鬥動態畫面、片尾雙方長時間刀錘對決的激烈場面，恐怖片中少見的創意。
本片改編自克里夫巴克1984年同名短篇小說，由《哥吉拉：最後戰役》北村龍平執導，這也是他首度進軍好萊塢的作品，《養鬼吃人》編劇Clive Barker操刀改編。並請來《偷拐搶騙》裡的硬漢殺手文尼瓊斯扮演血腥殺人魔，與布萊德利古柏展開地鐵捉迷藏，6年級生男性最愛的「漂亮寶貝」布魯克雪德絲也在片中演出一名冷艷熟女。
