El multimillonario John Hammond tiene una idea para un espectacular parque temático: una isla retirada donde los visitantes puedan observar dinosaurios reales. Los paleontólogos Alan Grant, Ellie Sattler y Ian Malcolm visitan el parque y quedan muy sorprendidos con los resultados obtenidos.
