崔佛（克里斯丁貝爾）是名機械師，受失眠所苦近一年不曾入睡，在長久的焦慮及失眠下，他的感知越加模糊與扭曲，越來越無法分辨自己週遭的一切。 此時，他唯一的慰藉只剩下電話應召女郎（珍妮佛傑森李）電話那頭的陪伴。在瀕臨崩潰的邊緣，崔佛決心找出答案，因此展開一場自我覺醒的旅程，然而當他明白的越多，真相卻令他抓狂。 他開始懷疑發生在自己週遭的怪事，是否真有其事？還是自己瘋狂的想像！而看似少言沈默的同事，是否又真的存在？

《洞》（法語：Le Trou）是一部1960年的法國犯罪片，由雅克·貝克導演，基於1947年法國拉桑泰監獄的五個囚犯的真實事件，改編自若澤·喬瓦尼1957年的小說。貝克在拍攝結束後幾周就去世了，他為主要角色挑選了大部分非專業演員，包括一名實際參與了1947年越獄事件的男子（讓·克羅迪），在影片開頭進行介紹。本片參選1960年坎城電影節。

In the past few days Rome has been the scene of a singular event: when it rains, the manholes exhale a dense steam whose origin and composition is unknown. No one can imagine that whoever breathes in the mysterious substance will have to deal with what he/she represses, their darkest instincts, their anger. Not even the Morel family.

On a winter day in 1961, 31-year-old Anna Eichmayr crosses the Grosshesseloher bridge in Munich, she suddenly stops in the middle of the bridge, opens a manhole and plunges into the depths. The film traces the young woman's life in flashbacks. It goes back to 1945.
