1884년 청나라 말기 광서제 10년, 서구열강으로 혼란스러웠던 해
주인공은 주영은 양아버지를 따라 떠돌며 재주와 기예를 팔아 근근이 먹고 산다. 도박으로 번 돈을 모두 날린 양아버지는 주영을 심씨 가문에 노비로 팔고 이곳에서 심씨 가문의 둘째 아들 심성이의 하녀로 배정받은 주영은 차 시중을 갔다가 실수로 심성이를 발로 차버리는 사건이 발생한다. 이 사건으로 심성이는 주영에게 앙금을 품지만 언제나 당당한 태도의 주영을 보며 사랑을 느낀다.
주영이 시침시녀를 거절하자 심성이는 주영을 광에 가두고 매질을하나 마침 오씨 가문의 장자 오빙이 심씨 가문에 거래를 제안하러 온 날, 심성이를 피해 오빙의 마차에 몰래 숨어든 주영은 오씨 가문에 기거하게 된다.
이곳에서 주영은 장사에 재능을 보이며 오씨 집안의 어르신에게 인정받게되나 혼인 후 오빙과 행복한 생활을 즐기던 것도 잠시 오빙은 독살 당하고 친척들이 주영이 죽인거라고 하며 강물에 던지게되는 상황에서 심성이가 살려준다 그러나 유산하고 이후 기회를 봐 오씨 가문의 사업을 맡을 후계자로 정하는시기에 귀신으로 분장 하고 그자리에서 누명을 벗기고 이후 3째 아주버님의 집에서 생일잔치를하다 사건을 해결하고 복수를 한다.
이후 주영은 오씨 가문을 일으키기로 결심하고 양귀비 사업을 통해 돈을 벌려다가 소작인 부부를 죽게 만드는것을 보고 주영은 밭을 불태우고 면화사업을 통해 아주버님들의 공장들과 합작해 오씨포목을 세우나 라이벌이라 할수있는 심성이나 악감정을가진 호영매 그리고 심씨상단을 조종하고 영매를 도와주는 두사장이 계속 방해를 하면서 그앞길이 순탄치는 않은데
2014년 10월 tvN에서 방영을 시작한 직장 드라마. 윤태호의 동명의 웹툰을 원작으로 한다. 바둑만이 인생의 모든 것이었던 주인공 장그래가 프로 입단에 실패한 후 냉혹한 현실에 던져지면서 벌어지는 이야기로, 프로 입단이 좌절된 후 원인터내셔널에 입사한 장그래와 그의 주변 사람들, 직장 동료간의 갈등, 동료애를 그렸다. 장그래는 바둑을 잊고 싶어 하지만 결국 자신에게 닥친 문제를 해결해 나갈 수 있는 열쇠는 역설적이게도 바둑으로부터 얻은 통찰이다. 드라마의 배경이 되는 원인터내셔널은 실제 회사인 대우인터내셔널을 모티브로 하였다.

On the morning of Christmas 1601 the San Jago set sail from Goa bound for Lisbon. The cargo included the first consignment of South East Asian porcelain destined for the European market. On 14 March 1602, off the coast of St. Helena, the San Jago unexpectedly encountered three Dutch ships and a fierce battle followed. After three days of fighting the Portuguese surrendered and the Dutch took possession of the San Jago.
This historic event formed the basis for a three-part television series called "Porcelain" filmed in Vietnam and broadcasted on Vietnamese television in March 2010.
