原本只是普通中学生的桃宫莓在与爱慕的青山约会之中，突然被卷入某项实验中并且在实验的影响下，被导入山猫（Iriomote）的DNA，甚至受到神秘之男士，白金之托，希一“莓猫”之变身，与异形怪兽对抗。

经过一段时间，终于找到另外四位成员。平日五人都在喵喵咖啡馆里做服务生顺便收集资料与情报。东京猫猫队的五位成员，分别被注射了Red.data.animals（世界稀有保护动物）的DNA。所谓的Red.data.animals是指地球上濒临绝种的可能性非常大的动物。根据IUCN（国际自然保护联盟）公布的红色名单，这个地球上，已经被指定为Red.data.animals的动物大约有2500种以上。主要的灭绝原因，源自人类的滥捕与环境的破坏。

极为普通的女孩桃宫莓，某天突然能够和她暗恋着的学园偶像青山雅也约会了！但她做了个梦，梦里她终于盼到了约会这一天，却被耀眼的光芒包裹，还有猫咪进入了自己体内。自此之后，她有时会长出猫耳与猫尾巴，行为举止也变得像猫咪一样……原来那是因为，为了从「外星人」寄生的「异形怪兽」体内的手中拯救地球，拥有西表山猫之力的「小莓猫猫」选中了她！小莓必须找到其余4个同伴，阻止试图污染地球环境的外星人，保护青山同学，保护好所有人！暗号就是……「为地球的未来献上服务喵♡」

　　《最后一眼》Last Chance to See，最早是由Douglas Noël Adams及Mark Carwardine于1990年出版的一本介绍濒危物种的书籍。

　　1985年由英国的《观察家》杂志发起，它们决定派遣动物学家马克·卡沃汀及作家道格拉斯·亚当斯前往马达加斯加，寻找一种濒危的狐猴型下目生物──指猴。这个计划后来发展成对全球多个濒危物种的搜索及介绍，当中包括位于印尼科莫多岛的科莫多龙、位于扎伊尔的大猩猩及白犀、位于新西兰的鸮鹦鹉、中国的白鱀豚、罗德里格岛上的罗得里格斯狐蝠及一些其他物种等。
