The Angrez is a 2006 Indian comedy movie directed by Kuntaa Nikkil. In this movie, the word "Angrez" refers to English people and non-resident Indians. The movie was a trendsetter in that, it was one of the first to effectively and humorously, often resorting to the slapstick kind, portray the dialect of the Old City and the Hyderabadi tongue. The film also portrays the fascination for American materialism, the hype around the IT industry and the lifestyle and culture it has spawned.

Explores the processes of political maneuvering which led to the Hyderabad communal riots in 1984. The city’s history, the provocative speeches of its politicians and the instrumentalisation of religious processions stands next to the testimonies and the striking visual accounts of the Old City’s working class – those who lose their livelihoods through violent attacks and long periods of imposed curfew.

A group of youngsters headed by Das attempt to monopolise the meat business in Falaknuma. However, they encounter some unexpected problems, which lead them to the path of crime.

A love story, the tale has 2 layers. The first layer comprises of two good friends Rishi (siddhu) and Jai (abhijeet). While Rishi is more hyper and practical, Jai is the level headed guy who takes life as it comes. Both of them come across Anu (nishanti) who is very systematic, believes in discipline and planning when it comes to life. Rishi falls in love with Anu but she doesn’t respond to his feelings. Meanwhile, Jai gets close to Anu and they both fall in love. The second layer happens in the US and here is Rajesh (rohan) and Radhika (chinmayi) are good friends. Here, Radhika falls in love with Rajesh but then Rajesh feels it is only good friendship. What happens from there forms the rest of the story.
