Ihre Hauptmitglieder waren Joan Jett, Lita Ford, Cherie Currie, Sandy West und Jackie Fox. Die Gruppe trennte sich 1979 aufgrund von Meinungsverschiedenheiten. Der Film soll sich vor allem um Jett und Currie drehen, und ihren Aufstieg von normalen Teenagern zu erfolgreichen Rockstars, verbunden mit den darauf folgenden Enttäuschungen, schildern.
