In una Los Angeles devastata dalla criminalità, un poliziotto violento si mette nei guai con un efferato malvivente. Entrambi vengono ibernati per subire un programma di rieducazione. Nel 2032 il criminale riesce a fuggire e semina morte in città. Giovane poliziotta fa allora scongelare anche il collega per farsi aiutare nella caccia. Esordio a Hollywood dell'italiano Brambilla con un film d'avventure non privo d'ironia (quando il protagonista si sveglia, scopre che il presidente USA è Schwarzenegger), ma imperniato soprattutto sullo spettacolo acrobatico e sulla suspense delle azioni. Credibile, poco; reazionario, molto.

Per lui questo amore rappresenta la svolta, ma una serie di omicidi commessi in metrò attira l'attenzione dei dirigenti della compagnia su di lui.
L'esercito delle 12 scimmie è un piccolo gioiellino fantascientifico del 1995 che si focalizza sulla disperazione di un singolo uomo condannato,in un futuro ormai abitato da una razza umana rassegnata,ad essere il prescelto per poter trovare un rimedio alla loro situazione disastrosa. Nel 2035 gli esseri umani vivono nel sottosuolo,terrorizzati dall'ambiente esterno,portatore di un virus mortale che li ha decimati un pianeta terra dove i prigionieri sono diventati solo ed esclusivamente loro. Anche se solo in modo approssimativo,gli scienziati di quel terribile futuro hanno reso possibile il viaggio nel tempo unica possibilità per poter mettere le mani sul virus e crearne una cura (da notare che nonostante si ipotizzi il viaggio temporale,il film sottolinea che non si può cambiare nulla di ciò che è già avvenuto.paradossalmente si gioca ancora sul concetto che non esiste un libero arbitrio).
Il dottor Abner Perry, uno scienziato britannico del periodo vittoriano, e il suo finanziatore degli Stati Uniti David Innes fanno un giro di prova nella loro macchina di perforazione Iron Mole in una montagna gallese, ma finiscono in una strano sotterraneo labirintico governato da una specie di rettili volanti giganti e telepatici, i Mahar, e pieno di mostri preistorici e uomini delle caverne. Essi vengono catturati dai Mahar che tengono gli esseri umani come schiavi attraverso il controllo della mente. David si innamora di una bella ragazza schiava, la principessa Dia, ma quando viene scelto come vittima sacrificale nella città Mahar, David e Perry radunano gli umani superstiti affinché si ribellino ai Mahar e riconquistino la libertà.
In 2007, in the midst of the drought and water shortages, the NSW State government has unveiled plans to tap into and recycle millions of litres of water trapped in a network of abandoned train tunnels just beneath the heart of Sydney. However the government suddenly goes cold on the plan and it is not made public why. There is talk of homeless people who use the tunnel as shelter going missing, even though the government states that there are no homeless people in there. This, and the silence from the officials and ministers, leads a journalist, Natasha to begin an investigation into a government cover-up. She and her crew Pete (Producer), Steve (Cameraman) and Tangles (Sound Technichian) decide to investigate the story in the tunnel.

A huge, alien structure resembling an inverted cone, appears in the woods outside a small rural town. The US military is running a test for a special type of radio transmitter, to be used to communicate with submarines, in a deep system of underground caves in Central America. When the signal from one of the transmitters suddenly disappears, a team of soldiers led by Major Elbert Stevens and cave specialists led by Rupert 'Wolf' Wolfsen including scientist Leslie Peterson are sent in to find out what happened. Exploring deep underground, they stumble upon a tribe of albino cave-dwellers who have apparently been isolated from the rest of the world for thousands of years. The cave-dwellers are hurt by radio frequencies and are able to see in infra-red frequencies, tracking the explorers by their body heat.
