Dette er første del av Riefenstahls dokumentarfilm fra Berlin-olympiaden i 1936. Filmen begynner med oldtidens Hellas, viser arkitekturen og skjønnheten i menneskets former og hvordan den olympiske ild bringes til Berlin. Vi får deretter en monumental og atletisk studie i forskjellige idrettsgrener. Selv om Riefenstahl fastholdt at filmen var upolitisk, ble og må den betraktes som en storslagen propagandafilm for nazismen og den germanske rase.
