La storia del film si sviluppa intorno ad un romanziere di cronaca nera che fatica a trovare uno scoop. Così decide di trasferirsi con moglie e figli in una casa dove ha avuto luogo l'orribile assassinio di una intera famiglia. Ma, dopo aver trovato in una scatola alcune videocasette che mostrano i brutali omicidi di altre famiglie, la sua indagine lo porterà alla scoperta di un'entità soprannaturale che sta minacciando anche i suoi familiari.

Nell’estate del 1979, un gruppo di amici di una piccola cittadina dell’Ohio è testimone di un disastro ferroviario, mentre sono intenti ad effettuare le riprese di un film girato in Super 8 da mostrare ad un festival provinciale. Capiscono subito che non si tratta di un semplice incidente perchè “qualcosa” fugge dal luogo disastro. La questione è talmente importante che la loro cittadina si riempie di militari intenti ad indagare, le persone cominciano a scomparire e strani fatti cominciano ad accadere nella città. Lo sceriffo del posto comincia ad indagare per cercare la verità e si troverà di fronte a qualcosa sconvolgente oltre ogni immaginazione. Alla fine starà ai ragazzi riuscire a mettere insieme i pezzi di una storia che procederà comunque, con o senza il loro intervento, e dalla quale dovranno uscire vivi.

Filip buys an 8mm movie camera when his first child is born. Because it's the first camera in town, he's named official photographer by the local Party boss. His horizons widen when he is sent to regional film festivals with his first works but his focus on movie making also leads to domestic strife and philosophical dilemmas.

In 1948, French singer Charles Aznavour (1924-2018) receives a Paillard Bolex, his first camera. Until 1982, he will shoot hours of footage, his filmed diary. Wherever he goes, he carries his camera with him. He films his life and lives as he films: places, moments, friends, loves, misfortunes.

Lost Boundaries is comprised of footage shot by Julien on location, in England in the summer of 1985, during the making of the Sankofa film and video collective's first experimental feature film The Passion of Remembrance (1986), which he co-directed with Maureen Blackwood, another member of the collective. In recapturing those moment Lost Boundaries both deconstructs and foregrounds the means of 16mm film production while weaving together a fragile community of Black artists and actors who came to prominence at a time when debates in film theory - such as those of the Screen film journal and of "third cinema" discourses where cinema was intertwined within (Brechtian) filmmaking practices - were at the forefront of forging a new politics of artistic representation. Bern, 1979: a tower block called Tscharnergut. Together with a few friends (among them famous Swiss actor Stefan Kurt), director Aron Nick's father and uncle shoot the idealistic Super 8 film "Dr Tscharniblues" ("The Tscharni Blues") – a wild, unvarnished self-portrait of their generation. 40 years later, Nick gathers the friends at Tscharnergut and asks what has happened to them and their ideals in the meantime. What have the achieved? What have they lost? Past, present, and future clash and form a journey of personal disappointments, hopes, and a collective search for identity. In "Tscharniblues II," Aron Nick discovers a kind of friendship that can weather anything.

Memory is a collaboration with musician Noah Lennox (Panda Bear), exploring the relationship between a musician and filmmaker and their personal reflection on memories. From Super 8 home movies and entirely handmade, this film explores familiar memories, the present moment combined with past experiences and how it all seems to evade from our present memory.
