De leider van het land Wu, Sun Quan, vraagt om hulp bij zijn grote rivaal: de militaire leider Liu Bei. Ondanks dat Sun Quan nu tegenstand kan bieden met zowel zijn leger als het leger van Liu Bei zijn ze nog steeds in de minderheid en lijken ze kansloos.
