Den frygtede sørøver Barbossa kidnapper den smukke guvernørdatter Elizabeth. Hendes ven og hemmelige beundrer Will, beslutter sig for at prøve at redde hende. Men for at starte redningsaktionen tvinges Will til at bede om hjælp fra den ukendte pirat Jack Sparrow, som også har en høne at plukke med Barbossa. Hvad Will ikke ved, er, at der hviler en forbandelse over Barbossa og hans sørøvere. En forbandelse, som skal hæves inden de kan besejres...

Den mærkværdige pirat Jack Sparrow er havnet i kløerne på den skumle sørøverkaptajn Davy Jones. Heldigvis beslutter hans venner Elizabeth og Will at slå sig sammen med Jacks gamle dødsfjende Barbossa for at tage helt til verdens ende og redde Jack. Samtidig har den begærlige købmand Beckett allieret sig med Davy Jones for at rense havene for alverdens pirater en gang for alle.

Den charmerende kaptajn Jack Sparrow er tilbage, og han har en blodsgæld han skal betale, da han har solgt sin sjæl til Davy Jones, kaptajnen på Den Flyvende Hollænder. Will Turner er blevet anklaget for at være pirat og Elizabeth Swann, er blevet spærret inde for at hjælpe Jack Sparrow med at flygte, og denne gang har Lord Beckett rigtig fået krammet på dem og gennem dem, vil han fange Jack Sparrow og selv få fingrene i den sagnomspundne Død Mands Kiste!

Fort St. David, Cuddalore, southern India, 1748. While colonial empires battle to seize an enormous territory, rich in spices and precious metals beyond the wildest dreams, and try to gain the favor of the local kings, Robert Clive (1725-1774), a frustrated but talented clerk who works for the East Indian Company and struggles to earn his fortune, makes a bold decision that will change his life forever.

The film begins in 1857, when India was ruled by the British East India Company. Mangal Pandey is a sepoy, a soldier of Indian origin, in the army of the East India Company. Pandey is fighting in the Anglo-Afghan Wars and saves the life of his British commanding officer, William Gordon. Gordon is indebted to Pandey and a strong friendship develops between them, transcending both rank and race.

In a moment of despair, Lakshmibai, Rani of Jhansi, encourages her men by telling them the heroic story of Uyyalawada Narasimha Reddy, a brave Telugu chieftain who took up arms in 1846 to protest against the numerous arbitrariness and crimes perpetrated by the leaders and military forces of the East India Company.

Sharpe’s Peril tager over hvor Sharpe’s Challenge slap. Sharpe og Harper er på vej til Madras, hvorfra de skal sejle til England, da de møder et East India Company bagagetog, der også skal til Madras. Gruppen - som bl.a. omfatter en højgravid kvinde og en egensindig fransk kvinde, Marie Angelique, der skal møde sin forlovede - begiver sig forsigtigt gennem fjendens territorium. Dets ledere frygter Chitu, den legendariske bandeleder, der regerer i området. Da angrebet fi nder sted, kan de ansvarshavende offi cerer ikke forsvare dem, og Sharpe er nødt til at tage over og føre gruppen 500 km gennem fjendens territorium. Han må træne den brogede gruppe op til at blive ordentlige soldater og må forsvare hjælpeløse landsbyboere mod den korrupte og hensynsløse oberst Dragomirov, områdets lokale kompagnichef.

The true story of Lakshmibai, the historic Queen of Jhansi who fiercely led her army against the British East India Company in the infamous mutiny of 1857.

Set in the backdrop of the seventeenth century, the royal family of Kottayam is ruled by Pazhassi. The British government begins to impose heavy taxes on the locals in the Thalassery region of Kerala.

In the 19th century, China held the monopoly on tea, which was dear and fashionable in the West, and the British Empire exchanged poppies, produced in its Indian colonies and transformed into opium, for Chinese tea. Inundated by the drugs, China was forced to open up its market, and the British consolidated their commercial dominance. In 1839, the Middle Empire introduced prohibition. The Opium War was declared… Great Britain emerged as the winner, but the warning was heeded: it could no longer depend on Chinese tea. The only alternative possible was to produce its own tea. The East India Company therefore entrusted one man with finding the secrets of the precious beverage. His mission was to develop the first plantations in Britain’s Indian colonies. This latter-day James Bond was called Robert Fortune – a botanist. After overcoming innumerable ordeals in the heart of imperial China, he brought back the plants and techniques that gave rise to Darjeeling tea.

Historian William Dalrymple travels to Hyderabad in India to explore the remarkable 18th-century love affair between a British diplomat and the Muslim princess he married. Tensions ran high when an Englishman fell for a Mughal ruler's daughter.
