V anglické metropoli kvete nová pop-artová kultura, uvolněný životní styl charakterizovaný mladými idoly, mladou hudbou a symboly nové generace – extravagantními auty, excentrickými byty a pestrobarevnou módní garderobou. Módní fotograf je jedním z úspěšných mladých mužů. Je bohatý, zraňuje svým sobectvím a absolutně nepochybuje o dokonalosti své práce moderního umělce. V jeho studiu se jednoho dne nečekaně objeví mladá žena a chladně, i když marně, mu nabídne své tělo výměnou za snímky mileneckého páru, který potají pořídil v parku. Když Thomas fotky zvětší, má dojem, že zachytil okamžiky vraždy. Najde dokonce mrtvolu, ta však zmizí stejně rychle jako fotografie a záhadná žena. Thomas se vrhne do víru londýnského popového života, ale cítí se náhle znejistělý a chladný.

V roce 1957 se v San Franciscu ocitl básník a knihkupec Lawrence Ferlinghetti před soudem kvůli údajné obscénnosti básně Allena Ginsberga (1927–1997) Kvílení, kterou vydal. Snímek uznávaných dokumentaristů, debutujících v hrané tvorbě, Roba Epsteina a Jeffreyho Friedmana, Kvílení popisuje tento proces (na základě protokolů), ale také Ginsbergův komentář při fiktivním novinářském rozhovoru s jeho vzpomínkami a s názory na tvorbu, tvůrčí a sexuální svobodu, a také samotnou báseň jednak recitovanou autorem (James Franco) při prvním čtení v Six Gallery v roce 1955 a zejména v animované podobě, zdůrazňující v proměnlivém výtvarném výrazu její až halucinogenní charakter. Scénář důsledně čerpá z dobových dokumentů a obraz doplňují archivní záběry a fotografie i výborná hudba Cartera Burwella a písňový soundtrack.

Měl to být pokojný protest. Místo toho ale propukl násilný střet s policií. Pak následoval jeden z nejznámějších soudních procesů v historii.

V roce 1969 na univerzitě v Los Angeles vře nespokojenost studentů. Jeden z nich, Mark, vidí, jak policie násilně rozehnala demonstraci a zastřelila jednoho ze studentů. Mark chce střelce zabít, ale někdo ho předběhne. Mark je však hlavním podezřelým, a tak prchá na letiště, kde unese malé sportovní letadlo.

Sto kroků - to je vzdálenost mezi domem rodiny Impastatových a domem mafiánského bosse Tana Badalamentiho v sicilském městečku Cinisi. Obě rodiny pojí dlouholeté spojenectví - než se v divokých 70. letech začne angažovat mladý Peppino Impastato. Ten ve vysílání místní rozhlasové stanice promluví o zločinech Badalamentiho a ostatních bossů - v době, kdy se politická garnitura Itálie snaží přesvědčit veřejnost, že mafie neexistuje... V roce 1978 Peppina (tehdy třicetiletého) zabila nastražená nálož. Policie případ uzavřela jako sebevraždu. Případ byl později znovu projednáván, Tano Badalamenti byl však mezitím ve Spojených státech odsouzen za obchodování s drogami... Mrazivý příběh je natočen podle skutečné události a dobové politické a společenské klima mapuje bez nostalgie a klišé.

An uptight military school gets a dose of hippie-infused rebellion when a group of students gather in support of the 1960s uprising going on around them. When a few students decide to bring the more liberal, artsy side of the revolution onto campus, they face opposition from much of the school's staff.

Years ago, artists would walk around the muck at the edge of the San Francisco Bay in Emeryville, and build loads of sculptures out there on the flats, created from driftwood and found objects that drivers would enjoy as they motored south on the old Highway 17 (known in numerous radio ads as 'Highway 17, The Nimitz'). Grabbing material off someone else’s work was considered fair game and part of the fun, and contributed a kinetic dynamic to the ongoing display. Now the place is a park, and the sculptures are gone, but you can see what it used to be like in this neat and funny documentary by Ric Reynolds, augmented by Erich Seibert’s wonderful musique-concrète/time-lapse sequences.
