Der afroamerikanische Drogendealer Ronald 'Strike' Dunham führt ein klar geregeltes Leben in New York. Seine Geschäfte laufen ganz ordentlich und er kann sich der Freundschaft des erfahrenen Rodney Little sicher sein. Das kriminelle Milieu der Straße ist für Strike ein Zuhause, in dem er sich auskennt. Aber als Rodney eine wichtige Angelegenheit klären muss, wird Strikes Bruder Victor verdächtigt, den leitenden Angestellten eines Burgerladens getötet zu haben. We see many aspects of addiction - the addict preparing an injection, a group waiting tensely for their dope peddler; agents preparing and adulterating the illegal product; the police catching a pusher red-handed. International and national authorities are working from two angles - suppression of the illicit traffic; and where possible, rehabilitation of the addict.
