This is the story of a poet who lived at the time of the French Revolution. The poet's name was Andrea Chénier. He lived and died amongst love and bloodshed. The numerous words of truth spun by this revolutionary poet became poems for eternity. Even today, they continue to shine light on the hopes that rest in people's hearts. The tidal wave of the times, when everyone believes that the ideal kind of society has arrived, will in time move in the wrong direction. Ironically, Andrea and Maddalena will be joined together by a thing called love. Idealism, which has been pushed to the forefront of reality, is toying with Gérard's life. Before long, a raging torrent that provides an omen of the tragedy to come will overwhelm all three of them.

For mm 49 (in the 37th month of "mm"'s history) a marathon listening party celebrating the music of Vivian Fine was decided upon. Fine was a dedicated composer who produced a variety of work over a 70 year career. This movie, of course, is not an imitation of Ken Burns style documentary movie-making. Instead, I gleefully mix the casualness & lively uninhibited conversation of mms with the formal exactitude of Fine's music. I hope you enjoy it as an upstanding example of Punk Classical. On October 14th, 1941, in the rural West Coast town of Kowhitirangi, Stanley Graham is a financially struggling recluse. He is accused of poisoning his neighbour's cattle and threatening his neighbours with a rifle. Local Police Constable, Edward Best, arrives to resolve the situation. On November 4, 1979, the American embassy in Iran was captured by students. In an action, America blocks Iran's money in global banks and forms the first economic sanction against Iran. The students are trying to return the property of their country by taking the embassy ambassadors hostage. America is planning a military attack to free its people, but this operation will fail in the Tabas desert. In the end, America will return only some of the money to release its ambassadors by setting up a contract.
