This franchise has managed to accomplish something I did not think possible.

In my movie ROI database of over 2600 titles from 1924 to 2022, there are 226 movie franchises - that is, movies with at least two installments. Among them, there are a few that lost money across two installments, but this franchise lost money across all four of its installments (the 5th was released to SciFi Channel, so there's no revenue information).

At some point, I may get around to trying to track down information that might shed light on why producers kept throwing their money away producing these movies...hopefully, some fan of the franchise may see this post and have some insight to share to save me the work.
