When Emily complains that she's having trouble writing a poem for a school assignment, her dinosaur pal Barney recruits his good friend Mother Goose for a one-on-one tutorial about rhythm and rhyme. Tis the season to be jolly -- and to celebrate Christmas, Hanukkah and Kwanzzaa! After decorating the caboose puts Barney and his friends in the holiday spirit, they trim the Christmas tree in the snow-covered park. But something's missing -- the shiny, gold star for the treetop! So it's "over the river and through the woods" to grandmother's attic to search for the missing star. Just imagine all the treasure they discover -- little drummer boys and an antique typewriter that's perfect for writing a letter to Santa. After reenacting the classic poem, "The Night Before Christmas" the children celebrate with friends and family as Barney places the Christmas star atop the tree!

Barney is back with a new generation of kid actors, a music video, and BJ in a tutu. Gone is the old treehouse; Barney and buddies now hang out in a hip refurbished caboose. First up is a lesson about reading in which books inspire the children to act out stories and write their own. In the second story, BJ doesn't want to dance ballet with his sister Baby Bop, until the kids explain that he can put his own spin on it--and take off the tutu. The reinvigorated dinosaur even mildly displays some urban flair when one girl dances to rap. With the incessant adult Barney-bashing of the past, his new owners had the stated purpose of getting parents on their side this time. In that respect, the good news is that both the setting and the child actors seem less artificial, and one of the girls even has a lovely singing voice.

Shot entirely on location, this never-aired 50-minute episode of the big purple dinosaur's TV show gets up close and personal with the two- and four-legged denizens of the Ft. Worth zoo. BJ and Baby Bop are along for the ride, helping Barney ask their young audience questions designed to get them thinking and interacting with the program. Includes 11 songs.

Through the power of imagination, Barney takes BJ, Baby Bop, Rachel and Jackson to visit a real farm! Once there, they get a chance to see how crops are grown and how real animals are taken care of. They also meet Farmer Dooley and his wife, who involve them in a varety of fun activities - including preparing for a big barn dance.

Join the lovable purple dinosaur and his pals for a day in the park as they celebrate individuality, from their unique gifts and abilities to their different sizes and shapes. What' better than spending time with friends in the great outdoors?
