Was the whole Mosque thing fake? The Mayor of Kingman said she didn't recognize a soul in that room which makes me think that the whole thing was fake and scripted.

I have never seen any of the episodes (not a fan of his) but from the responses to most episodes the 'interviewees' I would say that, no their responses are real & not scripted. Here is part of the wiki page on this series:

Well, I actually read an article online about how the city reacted to how they are portrayed. The Mayor of Kingman said she didn't recognize a SOUL in the room. Also, Kingman already has a Mosque at Route 66. So why would all these people upset about this if there is already a Mosque in Kingman?
