Are the ratings good enough to keep this show alive for a season 2?

It's not intricate information that is not perceived. I know just about everything going on in the show that has happened and the possible reasons thereof . I was at full speed at the end of episode three. While episode four was difficult in terms of people's perception of what they are seeing and why are they seeing it since there are virtually no rules. For example: A scene appears with the Syd and Ptonomy, most times we have no clue where they actually are or what the exact mission they are on. That was ok until ep4 and in comes David's Astral Plane and the Ice therapist and whatnot, but the show and it's plotline meandered about too much in my opinion and it was frustrating at times.

The thing is, I felt that there wasn't a need to include such a lengthy barrage of imaginatory sequences in la la land(David's). This episode's true content could have been cut down to a very watchable or even great episode of 40 minutes tops instead of 53 minutes. Still, unfortunately I felt that ep4 did little to advance the plot and since we are restricted to an 8 ep season things will need to get real in a** hurry**. My confusion was mostly based on making heads or tales of what some of the ridiculous filler spread throughout the episode meant and it's relevance, if any at all, in the grand scheme of things.

I guess some people just can't process that much intricate information. (As to the pathetic comment from MrRadical,

This show is currently a very tricky multidimensional world filled with characters and events from future/past/present(and who knows what else) all blended together for us to make sense of them all instantaneously so it's best for you not to be such a pretentious dick and insult the good people's intelligence who have participated in this forum thread, it is where many, many(IMDBXers) have come to talk about and figure out what's what if they have questions or opinions for the shows they have an interest in. Statements such your's in the above quotation are poison to discussion and can be handled easily in a different approach such as asking what in particular you find confusing about it, I believe I did so above and it was done without using any insultations such as yours

Oh and btw, I have an I.Q. of 146((First time I've ever posted that on the internet in 20 years or ever, I probably will never type it again, I feel everyone should be equal on the net until proven otherwise). So I believe myself more than capable enough to tackle any coherent comically based plotlines and ooh especially copious amounts of your "intricate information". I'll see what I get in #5 , I've already put it halfway in so I might as well thrust the remaining 4 in. It's the honorable thing to do. This forum so needs some sort of emoticons or emoji's, hopefully soon!

LOL the fact that you felt the need to mention your supposedly high IQ speaks loads about you. Let me tell you now, I.Q. is not an accurate measure of one's intelligence. Did you see me mentioning my I.Q.? rolling_eyes

All I know is as long as you don't try to overanalyze everything that happens, you'll have no problem with this show.

That's literally the first and only time I've laid that number on the internet in my life believe it or not, a test taken a very long time ago and it's not indicative of extraordinary intellect or talent, just a number I used while merely trying to prove you can never really know who you're talking down to, so before making wide sweeping ignorant statements maybe think about that. The translation of your statement basically says "it's not confusing, you people are just too stupid to get it, unlike I the master of the universe.

I agree though about overanalyzing stuff, there's quite a lot of cannon fodder in this show that can be distracting especially if you try to make actual sense of it, but behind it is really just a basic storyline. Episodes four was 90%cannon imo.

No, my comment was mostly an allusion to people's lack of concentration for durations longer than several mins when their minds are flooded with information. There are lots of people, dumb and smart alike, who simply can't pay attention to the show and then complain the show is boring or just plain sսcks.

Well it seems we have a common enemy, I don't do anything whatsoever while watching something and if need be I'll pause to tend to something. It's mostly the phone drones(what I call those people) are like a plague constantly missing a key scene and then whining because they are confused. Not just in Tv watching, but in everything everywhere in life, but that's an entire other can of worms. I've a drawer full of smartphones all f'ed up in one way or another, wet, cracked, internal batteries dead, atm I'm rockin a samsung flip phone despite having active sims and smart phones lying around.

I have an IQ f 146 and a 1/2, I have it proudly tattooed on my forehead, and I stopped watching this dribble. Going back to re-runs of Pinky and The Brain. At least we have common goals....

I would totally have went with the decimal route with that forehead tattoo 146.5 I hope you left room for your credit score too! Or have you done that bit already? Funny though I would like to take a new one now(test) and see the damage I've done since early high school 20some years ago, none that I'm proud of. I bet it's an easy 20-30+ point drop since A) I was clinically dead for over 20 minutes(no pulse, blue)in 2002 and B)from the time I got the H1N1 flu in 2009 my temp was over 105 degrees for a long time, I was hallucinating worse than 5 hits of acid, an 1/8 of shrooms and a tab of E(which I have done previously) My brain cooked like that for I don't know how long, from a medical point of view I shouldn't be a highly functional human after either of those cases, but for some reason not so. My memory is vast, but mostly inaccessible when I actually need it, the shite's all in there though. But yea an IQ test now ,lol, I wouldn't do it, why step on a scale when you've eaten nothing but junk food for the whole month.

Personally I'm not confused at all, I guess some people just can't process that much intricate information. The only thing I'm not sure is whether Yellow Eyes is just David's darkest corner of his mind or an external force masquerading as such.

its not even about confusion, just nothing happens at all. there is no progression to characters or story, just stands still in one place. maybe something will happen at the end but who has that long attention span? i remember Westworld had also slow start but at least something was going on there, not like this. i stopped watching already. right in the middle of last episode, it was too boring to finish

I am hoping that once the truth is revealed, we can move forward with the plot instead guessing all the time about what is really happening.

So it's safe to say that my opinion on series' is that you can't really go and write off a show after only 3 episodes unless it really offends or irritates you, Lucifer did that to me, I just absolutely despised the guy playing Lucifer and the storyline didn't catch on to me either, but that's certainly not abnormal for case of the week crap.

Oh I tried True Detective once but couldn't go through. I will again as well as with Twin Peaks. I just need to fin the perfect time. Funny you mention Lucifer, its so silly and definitely not funny but I watch it, and it because I like the main actor and the little girl.

I do watch a lot of shows too, currents and old ones.

After episode 4 they have lost me a bit, it was just too much randomness(in and out of David's "astral plain" and such) and mostly just unenjoyable. Who ever above me I previously criticized for it not being confusing, forgive me I take it all back. I'm getting confused and it seems that was their intention, it felt like ep4 was an insult, but that's just me. Hopefully they will redeem themselves with ep5 or this show becomes a, "let the season finish and then watch the rest at my convenience". I won't quit entirely, there is way too much interesting and cool stuff in it and it's such a short season after all, plus I'm in deep enough to require to see where all this ends. Nonetheless they need to lay some kind of solid foundation to this in reality, there is too much time dedicated to David's fracking fragmented memories, and do it now or this astral space created inside of memories shite will just not do!

Yes, unenjoyable. This episode was to me, messy; and not because of the time line or editing, but because this simple scene: Syd waking up from a dream on her bed. That throw me off. All the rest I kept track of, but again too messy. I hope we see more of the frozen lover and what role he would play when he wakes up. I could watch Flight of the Conchords sometimes.

I was wondering now that the Eye has been on Syd body, might he have recollection of the fat guy or the cartoon, or Davids demons. I just realised its an 8 episode season, Damn! we are half way thru, they either rush it up (which I hope don't happen) or they leave us on a cliffhanger.

On a side note, I don't trust Syd nor Melanie.

agree about Lucifer, hated leading actor at first but show is somehow engaging. come on, True Detective first season is master piece

its understandable that show needs time to unravel its story to become interesting but it shouldnt take whole season. it can be done in one episode. just watch any episode of Lost. i did that the other day, just was wondering about something spesific so watched one episode in the middle of 3rd season. wasnt planning on continuing but i just couldnt stop watching it, cliff hanger after cliffhanger, ended up watching the whole thing, till last episode. every episode should give you reason to continue to watch. especially pilot

I'm not confused. I'm intrigued. Well directed and the acting is good.

It's like a David Lynch film meets a Wes Anderson film (as I've heard it accurately described)
