Since most of these projects are quite secret they won't tell you on a day to day basis how much progress they made,but since Cox made that program several other countries have become involved into research into that field so that in itself is progress.Since it means that these countries take the idea of practical fusion energy serious enough to invest vast sums of money into it.

The more money and research is put into it the sooner it wil lead to a viable fusion reactor how long it will take I don't know but it seems they are building an installation in France that is slated to be the World's first energy producing fusion reactor,soit would indicate that fusion energy will become a viable energy source in the next 25 years

Well we just have to wait and see
