Discuss SHIROBAKO

I've noticed more than a few credit discrepancies between the onscreen ED credits (which is generally where I always take my info from) and the official website for multiple episodes. I'm not sure which one to trust.

For example, this raw screenshot is from the ED credits for episode 3. Heo Jong (許 琮) is credited for both storyboard artist and episode director, but the official website here shows he's credited only as the storyboard artist.

The scriptwriters/screenplay writers for each episode looks like it all matches; the differences are with storyboard artists, episode directors, and animation directors in multiple episodes.

You'd think the website would be kept updated, whereas the set-in-stone, and possibly rushed, ED credits might have some mistakes, but I really don't know. I do notice typos on the ED credits from time to time with other anime, and this one had at least one I can remember for a character name (definite typo, not a different character as I watched it through to see the character in question).

  • リスト挿入The Japanese SHIROBAKO Wikipedia page uses the ED credits.
  • The Seesaa anime staff database page for SHIROBAKO here, which I've found very accurate in transcribing onscreen credits does not make a note of the website credits. It sticks to the onscreen video credits only.

Any advice or decision on what to use from a mod would be good. Otherwise, this report can be closed immediately, it's more of an FYI.

I guess you could try to compare episode 2 (where 菅沼芙実彦 is credited) to episode 3, and episode 3 to episode 8 (where 許琮 is credited) to see which one the directing style matches more. But honestly, in these cases I would just automatically go with what the ED credits show. IMO it's the most "official" thing you have for episode credits and there may always be some mistakes on the website for some episodes.

Thanks for the quick response and for all your help with my other reports as well.

Ok, I will just adjust to match the onscreen ED credits (I don't have the know-how to distinguish between directing style, or the patience). The partial information already here matched the website.
