If Dorothy returns to Oz with Lucas, I hope she teams up with Jack (Tin Man) and Eamonn (Lion) against the Beast Forever. I don't care too much about the witches tbh apart from Sylvie, none of them showed much apathy to humans, also I hope Jordan Loughran's acting improves, she really seems wooden compared to the rest.
The Wizard was one of the more interesting characters, if he and Lady Ev somehow return, the show would retain my interest.

If the show returns, I think that's likely what would happen. I want to know what happened after Dorothy left.

It appears that the writers/producer/network concluded the season in such way that, technically, the story returned full circle and essentially completed - but that now it's set up to be wide open for continuation - as long as the series gets renewed by the network. Even if not renewed, they made quite clear that we can safely conclude Dorothy is about to head back to Oz.
By the way, I didn't understand why Jane wasn't able to return to Kansas with Dorothy. Also, I missed the first 15 minutes of the finale episode, so don't know who the person is who turned into the huge bird or bat or whatever. Do you all know who that was (is)?

The Beast is the skinless guy that Dorothy set free from the tree in the witch's prison. I think there's more to the story about Jane's motives so hopefully we'll get another season to find them out.

Oh - that makes sense why he was coming out of the underground place of all the roots during one of the scenes I saw later on in the finale.
By the way, I've always really liked the "Jane" actress, Gina McKee. She's long been a very popular semi-star of British t.v. dramatic productions. Very, very good actress. I've been a fan of hers for I suppose around ten years. This was the first time I ever saw her in an American production. But considering Emerald City filmed in Europe, I guess that's why Miss McKee got involved.

Surprisingly, I just now noticed she's not on the series' TMDb regular-cast list. I guess Miss McKee must have been considered to have been a supporting player? Her part and performance felt sufficiently notable to me, to feel like she was part of the regular primary cast.
