Anne trata de lidiar con la sorprendente noticia de su embarazo, mientras Amy va lentamente acostumbrándose a su recién estrenada maternidad.

Tom le dice en repetidas ocasiones a Grace que ella es la responsable de la muerte de su padre. Ella aceptará esa pesada carga y caerá en una depresión.

Amy está enferma y cansada de tener que cargar ella sola con la escuela, el trabajo y el hogar, sin embargo, se niega a aceptar la ayuda de Ricky. Por otro lado, Anne y George discuten por el reparto de los bienes tras el divorcio, mientras que con David, la pelea es por el bebé que está de camino y por su nuevo trabajo en la compañía. Entretanto, Ricky trata mal a Adrian mientras que otros la culpan por haber convencido a Grace de tener sexo. Ruben, ajeno a todo esto, acude al funeral con ella para hacerle saber que no está sola.

Amy sigue cansada y con su salud ligeramente deteriorada como consecuencia de la sobrecarga de trabajo a la que ha de hacer frente, por lo que George y Ashley se ofrecen a ayudarle y a aliviar su carga para hacerle feliz de nuevo. Ben se disculpa ante su padre y le pregunta por el puesto de trabajo en la carnicería, pero Leo le sugiere que se marche a Bolonia durante el verano con su tío hasta que se le aclaren las ideas.

Grace, todavía tratando de lidiar con su pérdida, comienza a comentar y chismorrear sobre la vasectomía de George. Por otro lado, Amy se niega a no poder acompañar a Ben a Bolonia, e incluso contempla la posibilidad de llevar consigo a John con ellos, algo que Ricky no permitirá. Este, por su parte, trata de emanciparse, para lo que Leo le ofrece trabajar más horas y vivir en el apartamento de la familia.

Todo el mundo regresa de sus diferentes estancias vacacionales. David, en un esfuerzo por ganarse el favor de Amy, le dice que le ha conseguido un coche y que deben trabajar en ser amigos. Por su parte, Amy y Ben se han separado, pero parece claro que Ben lo ha pasado bien con otras chicas en el extranjero.

George y David tienen una fuerte discusión cuando este le dice a George todas las cosas que Anne odia de él. Adrian está obsesionada con que George vuelva con Anne porque así su familia podría moverse a la casa de este y tendría la oportunidad de ver más a Ricky y Amy. Por otro lado, Ben admite que Adrian invitó a Ricky a dormir en su casa durante algunos días durante el verano, a pesar de haberse prometido en su momento no contar nada a nadie.

Ruben y Ricky le ruegan a Adrian que se disculpe con Amy, pero cuando esta lo intenta, enseguida se pone a la defensiva y termina insultando a la madre de Amy. Ruben intentará entonces enseñarle a Adrian a tratar con aquellas personas que no le gustan, invitándole nuevamente a disculparse. Entretanto, Ben no termina de decir a nadie si ha mantenido o no relaciones sexuales durante su estancia en Italia, a pesar de que existe una cierta sensación en el ambiente de que algo sucedió.

Madison y Lauren le dicen a Amy que tiene que mantener a Ben satisfecho pues, de lo contrario, es probable que termine alejándose de ella. Esto no hará sino que Amy se obsesione con quedar con él. Entretanto, Ben empieza a acercarse a una nueva chica llamada Heather que ha sido expulsada de su casa tras haberse quedado embarazada, por lo que comienza a pensar para sí mismo que las adolescentes embarazadas "son lo suyo". Y será gracias a Heather como Amy pase a sentirse afortunada de tener a sus padres con ella, pese a los continuos dolores de cabeza que habitualmente le provocan.

Amy siente celos de Ashley cuando George y Anne transforman el garaje en una habitación privada para ella, que será usada una vez que el bebé de Anne haya nacido. Entretanto, mientras Ricky va a buscar algunas provisiones para Amy, Ashley le pide que recoja su compra de muebles nuevos, lo que generará todo tipo de rumores acerca de ellos dos.

Adrian quiere ir al terapeuta de Ricky para hablarle sobre sus problemas y su relación, por lo que Ricky, pese a las reticencias iniciales, decide acompañarla. Por su parte, Grace, quien había estado barajando la posibilidad de tener sexo con Jack, cambia súbitamente de opinión y termina rompiendo con él. La llegada de Maria, una amiga de Ben que viene desde Bolonia, pondrá a prueba la relación entre él y Amy. Por otro lado, Anne se pone de parto y George se ve obligado a ayudar a traer al bebé al mundo, con la inestimable ayuda de Amy y Ashley.

Anne encounters an old flame causing Amy to be attracted to his son.

Relationships are on edge, with Ben and Amy dealing with their own relationship drama, as well as Adrian and Ricky and Grace and Jack.

Grace's love of self-love comes out at school in the form of a campaign called "Just Say Me". Which has girls all across school abandoning sex with guys in favor of a more personal activity that has the same end result.

Meanwhile, Adrian's own campaign of trying to be Amy's friend bears fruit when Amy invites her over for a visit.

Amy goes on a date with Jimmy. Meanwhile, Ashley pursuades George to vist Anne to rekindle their relationship, and Griffin sends his cousin Grant to get to know Ashley. Ben visits Grace and tells her that he wants to be friends, and as he leaves, they kiss. At the same time, Amy and Jimmy kiss. After George knocks on Anne's appartment door, Josh answers and explains Anne is with Mimsy and might come back home. While Ricky encourages Amy not to get caught up with Ben and Grace, Adrain's parents tell her they will get married, therefore causing her mom not to take the job offer in New York. Anne tells Ashely that she doesn't think it would be good for her to return home.

Amy fears that Jimmy's standoffish behavior is a result of her bad kissing, so Ricky offers to help her practice, which ends up being a bad idea. Elsewhere, Adrian's parents are planning a quiet, low-key wedding at home, and Ricky is hesitant to introduce everyone to his foster parents. A mother-daughter dance is being planned at school, but most of the students have strained relationships with their moms at the moment. Lastly, Ben must decide whether to continue pursuing Grace, and Anne suggests therapy as a final attempt for her and George to keep their family together.

George and Ruben finds out that Ricky and Amy kissed. While at the mother daughter dance, rumors fly around fast, as Anne, Ashley, Grace, Amy, and Adrian discuss each other's personal relationships with each other. Ben tells Henry and Alice that the reason why he broke up with Amy is because if he did hve sex with her, he was afraid that he would get her pregnant. He also tells Leo that he wants to get back with Amy. Meanwhile, at the mother daughter dance, rumors fly around that George and Anne will get married again. Elsewhere, Adrian asks Ben if he needs company and Ricky sends Adrian a text message saying that he loves her.

Amy visits Jimmy to learn why he never called her; Adrian makes a confession to Ricky.

Ricky takes time to track down his biological mother and confront her about his abusive childhood. Elsewhere, George wants to modernize his look by getting a makeover. Things are still tense between Adrian and Grace, and Jack breaks up with Madison after learning something about her. Also, Amy has a meltdown after a run-in with Ben, who is still trying to decide if he really wants her back.

Ricky, Ben, Amy and Adrian attempt to work out differences.

A messy custody battle ensues as Amy and Ricky continue to disagree over their rights as John's parents. Still angry with Ricky for breaking up with her, Adrian sides with Amy and encourages several of their friends to do the same. Elsewhere, George grows more frustrated with Anne's refusal to get re-married right away. Ben and Grace get closer, and Ashley feels ready to make some changes in her life.

Mimsy returns, and a wedding is held.
