Discuss Brideshead Revisited

My top three favourite characters in this magnificent miniseries have always been Cordelia, Kara, and Sebastian - in probably that order. Then would come, I think, Lady Marchmain, Charles, and Julia - in more or less that order. Then I must also include, in close runners-up standing, Charles' and Sebastian's respective fathers.

Regarding charming Cordelia, as portrayed by Phoebe Nicholls, she's so enchanting and alive in this. Hard to believe Miss Nicholls was actually a young adult when playing that part, and not the gawky teenager she was portraying. I totally "bought" her as such.

This miniseries is a feast of treasures. 1981's Brideshead Revisited remains my favourite t.v. miniseries to date.

There are two I just cannot separate. Not so much favourite characters as favourite portrayals (character + performance). Sebastian. One simply cannot discern where the character ends and Anthony Andrews begins. An acting tour de force. Anthony Blanche. Dear old Antoine. My d-d-d-d-dear. There are no words. And then there is Julia. More and more ravishing and beautiful with each passing scene. Her performance at the fountain brings tears every time.
