This is a two part miniseries which aired over two different nights on television.

Movies are released in two parts all the time. It (2017) and It (2019), Harry Potter and the deathly Hollows Parts 1 and 2 (2010), Batman The Dark Knight Returns Parts 1 and 2 (2013) not to mention Kill Bill Vol. 1 (2003) and Kill Bill Vol. 2 (2004) **which were also merged in **Kill Bill: The Whole Bloody Affair (2011). Now since It (1990) has been merged in a 187 minute proper movie, I think that it should be under Movies, at least in that 3 hour long version. I agree that mini series should not be in the movie section but the 3 hour version of It (1990) really belongs there.

It (1990) was originally broadcasted as a 2 parts miniseries, so it should be listed as a miniseries. As per our rules, we only list things as they were originally broadcasted.

maybe it should be reconsidered. is no longer contemporary. especially users of "Kodi" would make it much easier.

Examples are also "Into the Dark (2018), "I'am Groot" .....and so on.... Can't these be summarized as a collection?

There is nothing to reconsider. The original broadcast didn't change.

No, they can't. Collections are only for true movie sequels.

In the UK this was never shown as a TV Mini series but only ever released on VHS as a movie.

My Uncle was mad on Stephen King novels and had all the books, he purchased this movie on VHS on release. Myself and friends waited for its UK Release and also rented the VHS tape from Blockbuster Video.

This should be listed twice once for the American 2 Part Mini Series and once as a Single movie for all those of us who do not live in the US Region. As the film was re-edited into a single full feature-length film for markets outside the US.

It is also listed correctly as a movie on IMDB. The same as Deliberate Intent (2000) which was a 2 part mini-series in the US, but only available as a Movie in every other region.

I was astonished that a Blockbuster smash horror movie, that topped the movie charts in the UK, is not listed as a movie.

We don't list things twice, but only as they were originally released.

Each site has its own set of rules.

Well, they are two separate releases. Why wouldn't you list the Two part series as a Two part series and the UK Full feature-length film as a separate movie altogether? Because they are seperate.

The Movie was called"Stephen King's IT". So it's not the same is it ?

Yeah well, you should rename it www.TheUnitedStatesRegionMovieDB.org because you are prioritizing US releases over other Regions..

This is the same content.

We don't prioritize US releases, but original releases.

No it's not, It has been re-edited and the titles screens removed and made into a full-length feature film. How can a single movie be a two-part series ?

Discogs shows different releases of content, so it's more accurate.

You can have an album released in the US. When it's released in the UK the track numbering is different and the tracks could be re-edited and remastered, new tracks added with a brand new CD Cover and a completely different album name.

If the track selection changes and the content is modified, then it's technically underneath the same content, but a completely different release.

I know what you're saying. You are pointing out how flawed the movie database content really is.

It should be called www.TheFlawedMovieDB.org

Just to put it into perspective, I have ripped my "Stephen King's IT" DVD to my Plex Library. But www.themovieDB.org says this movie doesn't exist.

It doesn't matter as I can edit the values manually, but just need to take into consideration other releases, not just the Original Televised versions. There is a grey area, that the rules don't take into account which other archival sites do.

For instance IMDB have a way to add a symbolic link to list the title as a full length movie aswell, which takes you to the listing of the original mini series (Something Movie DB doesn't do).

So you will have a problem with 2 part mini series that have been released as a full length feature film aswell.

E.g. Deliberate Intent (2000) Longitude (2000) IT (1990) ect.. All show up incorrectly for certain regions due to lack of symbolic links.

Yeah well, you should rename it www.TheUnitedStatesRegionMovieDB.org because you are prioritizing US releases over other Regions..

many users write content for this site. a lot of time and effort. suggestions should be considered more......
