With his feverish energy and a strong urge to succeed, Yung Tung Shing becomes one of the prominent figures in the business world. He also benefits from the advices from his right-hand man Cheuk Tai Ming, who being a smart lawyer, helps him to win tremendous profit on the sly. Siu Ling Group announces their acquisition of Tung Shing Group. Not willing to for sake his holding shares, Tung Shing contrives a counter acquisition bid. Occupied by his work in the office, Tung Shing misses his date for the anniversary celebration with Mei Chi. Ka Lam also thinks that Mei Chi is being neglected. Unexpected Tung Shing uses a very special way to celebrate, thus making Mei Chi very happy. When Wong Wing Tien, the boss of a finance firm knows that Tung Shing has been buying substantial shares of Tung Shing Group, he uses the shares he has on hand to blackmail Tung Shing. Tung Shing accepts his terms unwillingly……

Upon graduation from the university, Sze Man learns about his father's sudden death……

Mei Chi goes to the beach to enjoy sunshine alone and accidentally comes across Tai Ming. They spend a day together and when Mei Chi tells Tung Shing about it, Tung Shing expresses his disapproval. Mei Chi was once caught in a love triangle between Tai Ming and Tung Shing. Though she finally chooses to marry Tung Shing, she still regards Tai Ming as her close friend, although Tung Shing doesn't necessarily share the same feeling. During his depression, Sze Chung is able to encourage him so that Wing Tien regains his confidence for the future. They decide to work together to build up their business empire. Despite of Mei Sin's attempt to use her daughter as an excuse trying to obtain money from him, Sze Man refuses to help……

The acquisition bid involves a lot of legal problems and arouses suspicion from ICAC. Jai Ming is invited to provide information therefore making Tung Shing very nervous who is also doubtful of Tai Ming's statement. Tai Ming engages in a lot of illegal activities during his help to expand the business of Tung Shing and he has been feeling uneasy all the way. When he knows that Tung Shing grooms Kam On to help him, Tai Ming thinks that it's a very good opportunity for him to retreat from the business slowly. However, he is not being understood and the conflict between he and lung Shing deepens. Sze Man and Ka Lam fall in love. Kam On promotes Sze Man hoping that he'll help to strengthen his power in the company. To return his gratefulness for Kam On's recognition, Sze Man also works very hard and is able to build up his foundation in the company within a very short time……

Tai Ming hands in his resignation during a boat trip. Tung Shing purposely refuses to give his helping hand when Tai Ming is exhausted during his swim and is thus drowned to death. Despite of his regret on the death of his long-term old friend, he also feels relieve in destroying the evidence of his illegal activities. Ka Lam mourns on her father's death. She puts all her energy on her career and romance. Sze Min borrows Har Lem's Kung Fu centre for location and causes tremendous confusion to the place, thus infuriating Har Lem. Kin Van helps by speaking well of Sze Min. Kin Van has secretly taken to Sze Min but as he comes from a poor family, he thinks he doesn't match her. He hides his love for her and doesn't have any expectation.‧ Sze Man brings Ka Lam to Mui's place for dinner. When Sze Min sees that the two are on intimate term, she feels very disappointed……

Cheated by one of his clients, his shop faces a very difficult time and Chung Ping is very worried. Sze Man is sympathatic and on his own accord, he offers to help. Sze Min is moved by his generous act. Tung Shing recognises Sze Man's ability and trusts him the project to develop a new area. Sze Man feels flattered. Knowing that Chung Ping's ancestor house is listed in the developing plan, Sze Man tries to convince him to sell the house when the price is good. Chung Ping, however, insists his original decision. Shu Kai and Ka Lam have been friends since they were children and they grow up together. He realises that he has been loving Ka Lam at the time when Ka Lam and Sze Man have taken to each other. Shu Kai is therefore caught in the love triangle. Ka Lam pucks up her courage to reject Shu Kai's love for her. Shu Kai is shocked by Ka Lam's decision……

Chung Ping is very depressed by the loss of the ancestor property as well as his business. He finally listens to Sze Man and agrees to sell the property to Tung Shing Group. Sze Chung discusses the sale detail with Kam On who uses the property being a dangerous building as an excuse and offers a much lower price. In hls anger, Chung Ping rejects the deal again. However, Sze Chung succeeds in buying the land cheap through a third party. Though Sze Man doesn't agree with Kam On's action, he is afraid to step out to speak for justice. Har Lem has to move out the building and find a new site to continue the kung fu centre with Kin Van. He is sad to leave Chung Ping. Hoping to please Ka Lam, Shu Kai works hard on his career and requests Tung Shing to support him to buy the share of Wing Cheung Garment Factory. Tung Shing gives his approval readily……

Tung Shing discovers that Wing Cheung is a shell company, and blames Kam On for losing money. But Kam On knows his stuff, and arranges for the shell company to be listed, with price doubling, thus making Tung Shing believe in him. By investing in Wing Cheung, Chung Ping wealth shoots up and wants to sell the shares on hand. However, Sze Chung thinks that the share price will go up and stops his father from selling the shares. With the information from Kam On, Mei Sze wants to profit from Wing Cheung and buys the share at a high price as a short term investment. She turns out to gain a lot from her speculation. Shu Kai sends a precious diamond watch to Ka Lam as a birthday gift to express his love for her. However, Ka Lam refuses to accept the gift. Sze Man plans to celebrate Ka Lam's birthday with her. However, Mei Chi has arranged a birthday party for her so that she couldn't spend her birthday alone with Sze Man.

Keen to succeed within a very short time, Shu Kai uses his position in Wing Cheung and invites Ka Lam as consultant to help him to enter upon the movie industry. He also solicits help from Sze Min and Sze Chung and invests heavily hoping to succeed instantly. Working at Wing Cheung, Ka Lam finds that all the order and bills are fake and there are lots of internal problems existing in the company, she therefore informs Tung Shing who asks her to keep her discovery secret. Thinking that he has gained a hugh profit, Tung Shing begins to . sell his shares of Wing Cheung. Adding to this, news leaks out that Wing Cheung is going to crumble which results in a panic selling of the shares and the price plunges to the lowest and transaction is stopped. Chung Ping is dismayed. Shu Kai asks Tung Shing to help Wing Cheung to pass the critical time……

After leaving Mui's house, Sze Man feels lonely. Sze Min knows that Mei Sin has sent her daughter to stay with her relative as she is busily engaged with her work. Sze Min therefore asks Sze Man to spend more time with his sister. Sze Man meets Mei Sin when he goes to see his sister and they clear the misunderstanding between them. From Kam On, Mei Sin learns that Tung Shing is connected to Pak Him's death. She feels the complication and reminds Sze Man to be careful during his finding-fo ‧.. the truth. Sze Man isn't able to obtain further information or clues from colleages of Pak Him and he feels dejected. Sze Man is assigned to receive an important client and is busy to prepare a proposal, thus neglecting Ka Lam. Estrangement be falls the pair. Knowing that the client Miss Wai has a liking for Sze Man, Tung Shing arranges the two to go on a business trip together hoping that relationship strikes between them……

Shu Kai holds a celebration banquet for his first movie. The reporters focus on the alleged love affair between Shu Kai and Sze Min, thus arousing envy from Kin Van. Chung Ping learns about the news from the newspaper and believing that Shu Kai and Sze Min~ in love, he strongly disapproves. Sze Min is confused by the reaction. Har Lem knows that Kin Van loves Sze Min, he encourages Kin Van to pursue Sze Min and persuades Chung Ping to help. Chung Ping welcomes the idea readily. Returning from the business trip, Sze Man immediately dates Ka Lam who responses coldly. Ka Lam finally gives in to Sze Man's sweet languages and the two becomes close as before. Miss Wai will sign the contract for cooperation with Tung Shing Group only if Sze Man spends a night with her. Sze Man agrees in order to secure his career. ~ However, Ka Lam accidentally discovers the affair. She is infuriated and avoids seeing Sze Man.

To pass time, Chung Ping decides to buy a stall and starts his business. He asks Ka Lam to help with the legal document. But when the owner of the stall Mr. Lee hears that Ka Lam is the daughter of Tai Ming, he refuses to deal with her. In order to investigate what has happened between Mr. Lee and Tai Ming, Ka Lam pretends that she is Sze Min to find out more. The truth was that years ago Tung Shing and Tai Ming wanted to absorb Mr. Lee's inherited property. They forged a will and intimidated Mr. Lee. Though Mr. Lee was not frightened, he couldn't put up a strong proof so that Tung Shing and Tai Ming are still free and are not prosecuted. Unable to accept her father's sly doings, Ka Lam feels very sad. With Mei Chi's encouragement, Ka Lam decides to do justice to redeem her father's faults. Film distributors after watching the preview thinks that the movie lacks commercial quality and asks Shu Kai to add some sex and violent scene……

After police investigation, Kin Van is found to be not related to the kidnap of Shu Kai. Kin Van also offers to help the police in order to return Shu Kai's favour. From the call of the kidnapper to Tung Shing, Kin Van finds out that the kidnapper is one of the students at the health club centre. The culprit is finally arrested by the police but Kin Van is wounded. Tung Shing asks Sze Min to help him to send a sum of money to Kin Van as a reward for his saving Shu Kai. Kin Van refuses to accept. Kin Van's courageous action in saving Shu Kai has been arousing a lot of publicity. Tung Shing thinks that it'll help to promote the movie and he arranges to release the movie at the best time making Shu Kai and others very happy.

When lung Shing finds that Kam On has been manipulating his power at the company for his own purpose, he promotes Sze Man to a high position so that Kam On has to report to Sze Man. Sze Min's movie receive wide acclaim from critics after preview and the staff feel very encouraged. Sze Min decides to work on the second one. Unable to stand Ka Lam's cold attitude, Sze Man works hard to ask her pardon. Ka Lam is moved by his sincerity and finally forgives him. Shu Kai finds out that his movie is released due to lung Shing's influence. He isn't grateful to him but thinks that lung Shing has been showing off his power. Only with keen explanation from lung Shing that the father and son are able to clear the misunderstanding. lung Shing acquires a factory and the contract restricts that same business should continue after the acquisition……

Seeing that his power at the company is shrinking, Kam On asks lung Shing to invest in the military weapon smuggling business so that he could himself reap a hugh sum of money. lung Shing is infuriated when he finds out what Kam On is up to which finally leads to Kam On's resignation. Looking at the past record of the company, Ka Lam finds out that Pak Him had checked lung Shing Group's application for loan. She also remembers that lai Ming was investigated on the company business just before his death and therefore associates the two deaths with lung Shing. Ka Lam" tells Sze Man about the discovery and the two agree to look into the matter. They'll secretly collect the evidence of lung Shing's illegal activities and send him to prison. Sze Man proposes to marry Ka Lam but Ka Lam refuses thinking that she still hasn't solved her father's case and she also asks Sze Man not to be further used by lung Shing……

Kam On sells his company to Tung Shing unknowingly and to his surprise. In his frustration, Kam On resorts to alcohol. In his drunk, he tells Mei Chi about Tung Shing causing the deaths of Tai Ming and Pak Him. Ka Lam presses Sze Man to find evidence against Tung Shing. Trying to secure his position in the company, Sze Man hesitates to confront Tung Shing expressly. Kam On knows from Mei Sin that Sze Man is the son of Pak Him and he uses the information to blackmail Sze Man. Failing to achieve his aim, he swears to revenge. Sze Man finds that Tung Shing bribed the finance firm in order to obtain the loan. Further investigation also proves that his father died because he didn't want to cooperate. Sze Man feels very guilty when he finds himself has been working for someone responsible for-his father's death.

Mei Sin leaves Kam On and opens her own small business. She lives on her own and leads a simple but happy life. Finding that Sze Man has been continuing to work for Tung Shing after knowing the cause of his father's death, Ka Lam is irritated by his ruthless behaviour. She decides to break up with him. Kam On contrives a series of tricks in the gold market which succeeds in causing Tung Shing losing a enormous sum. To rescue his company from bankrupty, Tung Shing seeks help from different sources. He is so worried and overworked that he loses conscious and is sent to the hospital to rest.

Tung Shing refuses to stay in the hospital so that Mei Chi worries very much about his health. Shu Kai and Sze Min getting on very well and decide to get marry. Chung Ping disagrees strongly but Sze Min doesn't take any notice. Mei Sin has been the one trying to, understand and help him in his frustrcultion and Kam On decides to marry her. Moved by his sincerity, Mei Sin agrees to the proposal. Returning from Canada, Miss Wai want to co-operate with Tung Shing on aninternational project. She is still interested in Sze Man and tries to seduce him but without success. Unable to cope with the pressure, Mei Chi propose to divorce Tung Shing for the second time. Since he couldn't convince Mei Chi, Tung Shing asks her to proceed with the divorce after Shu Kai's wedding.- - Ka Lam gives the evidence against Tung Shing to the ICAC for further investigation. Fearing to lose his position and fame, Tung Shing thinks of murdering Ka Lam.

Not convinced that Ka Lam will do anything against his father, Shu Kai waits at her car trying to find out more. However, Tung Shing has already arranged to wreck her car which cause the accident. Trying to save Ka Lam, the car runs off the hill with Shu Kai in it. Mei Chi is shocked by the death of her son and at the funeral, she blames Tung Shing for causing Shu Kai's death in the public. Tung Shing feels terribly sad. After all the shock, Tung Shing takes on a pessimistic attitude and even agrees to Mei Chi's divorce. Seeing Tung Shing pitiable situation, Sze Man tries to convince Ka Lam not to prosecute Tung Shing. Ka Lam thinks that Sze Man is selfishly helping Tung Shing and decides to break completely from him. In his frustration, Tung Shing has already decided to transfer all his business to Sze Man .
