it's Mayberry, but totally agree. This is a great show to add to the TV mix - funny and a throwback era..

I was less than three years older than Ron Howard (Opie), so I really identify w/him and the era. I sort of miss those times, and I still enjoy the reruns. Sometimes I see an episode that I had all but forgotten, so it's a special treat to see it again.

I grew up watching and loving this show. I was born at the beginning of the '60s, so a combination of saw some latter seasons during their original runs, but probably mostly watched episodes, here and there, in later reruns.

Viewing this in childhood was the perfect "easy" fit. Reruns of great shows like this and charming other '50s and early '60s series like Dennis the Menace, Leave It to Beaver, Lassie, Mister Ed, etc. Those certainly were wonderful shows to grow up with.
