Discuss One Step Beyond

This OSB ep was about a young, successful painter who was deeply troubled. No one around (including his comely girlfriend) understands why. Then the painter and his girl take a drive to the countryside where he meets for the first time an old lady. And he tells the old lady that her male love lover (one she lost decades ago to death) still loves her. Now, the first assumption we make is that the painter is the reincarnation of the old woman's dead lover. But is that really the only interpretation? How about the ghost of the dead man somehow simply contacted him and told him to contact his living former lady lover. Host Newland points out himself that reincarnation is not the only interpretation of what the painter was doing visiting the old lady.

Now to the parallel. I read the Bible has great scientific accuracy (round Earth, jet streams, man from soil, head director of body growth, hydrologic cycle, and much more). But another fact the Bible speaks of is water eroding rock. An ancient Chinese philosopher named Lao Tzu also spoke of water erosion on rock. Now I set out to discover if ancient Israelites had been to China. Here is what I found. First Israelites are recorded as visiting India in 560 BC. When did the Indians first meet the Chinese? By the 400's BC the Indians knew the Chinese of Chin in eastern China. Lao Tzu's first book is put out in the 300's BC. Israelites could have made their way to China by way of India and influenced Chinese writing this unobservable fact. Did Israelites have to visit China to bring this fact? No. Indians who had been influenced by Israelites could instead have visited China in the early 400's BC and brought the scientiofica fact to to the Chinese. The realization that one theory is not the only theory is the parallel.
